Beth Hirsch Band Letter

March 10, 2008

My Dear Dear Friends,

I was initially going to be writing every month to keep you updated on my projects & whereabouts but my best intentions have turned into what I must now recognize as a bi-annual ‘event’. It’s been a very long time, I know....

I figured though that your time is precious and taking it up talking about things that hadn’t happened yet is not the way I like to do things.

With that said, please know I have missed communicating with you and am delighted to now bring you these juicy announcements :

First off, a new remix of INDELIBLY YOU by GOT-TA-SCATTA: these two gentlemen are a brilliant British duo I discovered from their friend request on my Myspace page. What others would normally call a remix, we are calling a ‘rework’ as they have completely transformed Jez Colin’s & my song from my latest album, WHOLEHEARTED. They are ‘under the radar’ types so I am not at liberty to tell you much about them except I have to say they are mega and I am very proud of what they’ve done.

And the lovely cover artwork was done by another Myspace set of gems from Bulgaria called ADI. Also very modest but dreamy, elegant and incredibly generous . The mp3 is now available for purchase on my website and will also be featured soon on iTunes & CD Baby.

Here’s the stream:::

The song had its worldwide debut on star podcaster ANJI BEE’s show, “THE CHILLCAST” Sunday, March 09th. You can hear & download the show starting the 10th on anjibee.com (and by the way, if you get a chance check out the press page on my website for one of her latest vidcasts - she’s adorable & hilarious)

Next up, my first ever REMIX CONTEST from Acid Planet & Sony Creative Software: Beginning MARCH 15th, “OUR SONG” (also from WHOLEHEARTED) will be the contest’s official track. All information, rules and regs starting the 15th can be found at:::

http://www.acidplanet.com/contests/bethhirsch/

Prizes for the winner will include an Acid Pro 6, Sound Forge 9, 5 Loop Libraries & a Play Station Portable. So, please spread the word to any aspiring musicians or producers you may know because they are cordially invited to participate.

I will be featuring the original “Our Song” on my MySpace page throughout the duration of the contest for all those who would like to hear the original track.

And last but not least, as the free mp3 giveaway this month, I am very happy to be able to offer you the demo/rough version of the song “Blacksmoke” as my contribution to THE DANGER GLOBAL WARMING PROJECT; based in London, England, DGWP is an exciting multimedia initiative to raise awareness of climate change worldwide.

Download the mp3 here:::

This groundbreaking project features original music, images and video material created by some of the world's most respected film makers, designers, photographers, writers, artists & actors. I'll be supporting the music content by 'recycling' the original project theme (written and performed by Hugh Cornwall) for the download-exclusive album, alongside musicians including Goldfrapp, Bill Frisell, 4 Hero, Lee "Scratch" Perry and many more.

LA film score composers Gabriel Isaac Mounsey and Jonathan Shanes (with whom I worked on the Pale 3 recordings) have graciously donated their time and immense talent to produce the new version. Unfortunately, I can’t show it here as I have promised Keir and DGWP our finished track will exclusively belong to them.

The album will be available for iTunes download in July 2008. For more information on the organization, please go to:::

I want to thank Kevin, Anji, Steve, Keir, Dec, Dave, ADI, Gabriel, Jonathan, Ariel, Christina, Corey and Tony Match for the amazing and enjoyable teamwork these past months.

And to you, my dear dear friends all my love, respect and appreciation. Now and Always…

Love,

Beth xxx
